San José City College in San Jose, CA offers associate degree through our Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Department.
- Associate of Science in Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Technology. This program is designed to develop the appreciation, knowledge, and skills essential for employment in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. Instruction includes both theory and practical work with refrigeration and air conditioning machinery, electrical equipment, and related mathematics. Prerequisites and Required Assessments
There are no prerequisites for enrolling in the air conditioning and refrigeration programs. Even though a high school diploma or equivalency is not required, you may find that some employers prefer to hire employees with a high school diploma or equivalency. There are also more options for financial aid at the community colleges for students who have a high school diploma or equivalency.
You must take a placement test to enroll in math and English classes for the general education requirements needed to earn an associate degree. You should meet with a counselor to determine the correct placement in these classes.
